I completed my honours undergraduate degree in Psychology and Theatre Arts at Redeemer University College and my Masters of Social Work at Wilfrid Laurier University with a specialty in Individual, Couple and Group counseling.

I have worked in a variety of settings with children, adolescents and adults including psychiatric assessment, family counseling centers, youth shelters serving street involved and homeless youth, children’s mental health and child welfare. My experience has also included training in Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy. I have also been trained in the treatment of children who are or have been affected by sexual abuse. I like to use elements of play, art, and story in my work with traumatized clients.

I believe the Journey of Psychotherapy is a deeply profound process. I am often inspired by the courage it takes for an individual to begin to look inward, and feel privileged to be apart of such a cherished process. As a guide along the journey, I am touched by the stories and struggles my clients deal with.

As I have noted, balance is important. To balance out my life, I enjoy participating in community theatre productions, singing, playing the piano, a good book, meditating, journaling, and spending time with people who love me. A good cuddle with my kitty also helps!
